Madam, It has been forty years since The Children's

Society introduced Christingle to the Church of England

and I am calling on everybody in Herefordshire to attend

their local service and make this a 40th birthday to

remember!

Today, over 6,000 Christingle services take place

around the country attended by more than a million

people. Services are held to celebrate the Light of the

World and these candle-lit celebrations raised over £1.2

million last year, helping the most vulnerable children in

the UK enjoy a better childhood.
