The new Community Dog Warden scheme to combat incidences of dog fouling will be launched at a public meeting on Wednesday March 7th at the Royal Hotel at 7pm.
Ross-on-Wye Town Council has organised the meeting so that members of Herefordshire Council's Community Protection Team can explain this exciting new initiative. They will tell potential wardens how they can be involved to help combat the problems of dog mess and irresponsible owners in this area.
Members of the public are invited to be part of a possible solution and Ross Town Council would love to hear from anyone who would like to become a Community Dog Warden.
Councillor Atkinson, who originally proposed the idea told the Ross Gazette:?"We are hoping for a good crowd, we would like 50 Community Dog Wardens up and running in the first year. We hope people will come to the meeting to hear the Team explain the scheme and how you can get involved.
"As a Community Dog Warden you do not have to volunteer any time, once you have attained the status you can just deal with the situations as they arise.
We hope to have representatives from local community groups, sports clubs, parish councils, traders and police to name a few examples. Please come along and see if you can be involved"
Ross Town Council added: "We feel that this is a very good scheme which could have a lasting impact on the look of the town.
If you feel you would like to be part of this please RSVP the Town Clerk by March 5th at [email protected]">[email protected] or on 01989 562007.
