Once again this year the sky above Ross-on-Wye will be illuminated with colours and sparkle as the Annual Bonfire and Fireworks Display takes place on Saturday, November 4th. It has become many families custom to enjoy this charity fundraising event which is organised by Ross on Wye Lions Club at the Chase Hotel.

The entrance gates on Gloucester Road will open at 6pm. Inside, volunteers will be on hand to sell barbecued burgers and sausages. Hot drinks will be on sale and a sweets van and ice creams will also be available. The Ross Youth Lions (Leos) will be selling lightsticks on the field and raising money for charity too. New, this year, will be a bouncy castle for the children to enjoy.

At 7pm local Cubs will form a torchlight procession to lead up to the lighting of the fire by a Lions Club member. After that, at 7.30pm, there will be a display of fireworks.

Entry will cost £6 per adult and £4 per child and this can be paid in cash on the gate. Family tickets for adults with children will cost £15 to offer better value for those who come together. This is a charity fundraising event and you can be sure that every penny raised is used for good causes.

Ross Lions want to make the event fun and safe - no alcohol, sparklers or personal fireworks are allowed. Please remember to dress appropriately for the weather, stay behind the safety fences and listen to the advice of stewards so that everyone can have a good time.

Ross Lions are very grateful to all the helpers and volunteers, and especially the Chase Hotel for once again hosting this event. If you want to know more about the Lions or their charity work or volunteer to help with events, look on the website www.rossonwyelions.org
