Ross Juniors lost in the cup to Orleton 3-2. This was their 1st defeat of the season and it was a game they should have won. Juniors started in their usual vein of passing the ball and dictating the play.

They were rewarded in the 14th minute with a fine goal. Joe Loftus won the ball in midfield and found his midfield partner Will Barker with a good pass. He in turn picked out Luke Gray who hammered the ball into the back of the net.

Juniors had all the possession and were looking to score more goals. But in a breakaway move the visitors equalized from a penalty, after a foul on the edge of the box, in the 34th minute.

The lead was restored five minutes later when Joe Loftus threaded the ball through to his brother Ted who finished expertly from just inside the box.

The second half continued as the first with the home side dominating but they could not find the elusive third goal to kill the game. With five minutes remaining the visitors broke away and scored to make the scores level and extra time loomed.

Then disaster struck when Juniors were caught out in the last minute and Orleton scored again this time from an own goal and the ultimate winner to make the final score 3-2. Even the winning team admitted at the end that they have never seen such a one sided game. The Eagle Inn man of the match was shared between Rob McAfee and Joe Loftus.
