MADAM, I would like to make people of Ross aware that pets are very vulnerable when they are out and about – especially this time of year in the dark or misty weather conditions.
On Saturday, December 6th, between 9am and 9.15am, my cat Smokey was knocked down, either on Edde Cross Street, or in the car park.
He managed to drag himself home. He is alive but has a very nasty fractured pelvis and now has to live in a cage for approximately three months. He has received excellent care and treatment from Chase View Vets, and is being very brave.
I am shocked and upset that the person who hit him did not stop. I am writing this letter to the Ross Gazette on the off chance that the person will see this and come forward.
Smokey is a very precious cat to me and my family and we are so glad he is alive. Unfortunately his quality of life will be very poor for a while because of this.
I know some people don't like cats but they are still someone's pet and loved one.
