JOHN KYRLE School were crowned winners in the Under 16 final when 14 schools from across Herefordshire fought it out to become champions of the Herefordshire Schools Domestic 7s competition 2009. The competition, which took place at Hereford Cathedral School's Rugby pitches at Wyeside last week, pitted the students against one another in various age categories. Playing in two groups in each age category, the winner of each faced off against each other to become champions. Hereford Cathedral School triumped in the under 18 competition. For the second year running, the event was run with the help of the Army, sponsors of the games, as well as Hereford Cathedral School, Herefordshire Schools Rugby Union and Herefordshire's School Sport Competition Manager, Peter Reed. The Army provided the rugby balls, as well as the all important winners' trophies.
