Three Kings Caple pupils were semi finalists in a countywide public speaking competition held at Whitecross School last week. Alongside nine other schools, the Kings Caple pupils debated issues such as ‘should children be able to vote?’ and ‘should children choose their own bedtime?’

The high school judges praised the confidence and eloquence of the Kings Caple pupils, stating that they had written strong arguments to make their case.

After battling valiantly, Kings Caple finally lost to Stretton Sugwas School.

Sarah Watkins, Head of School at Kings Caple, told the Ross Gazette: “The children did so well and we would like to thank Whitecross High for a fantastic opportunity.”
