A group of ten residents from Kings Caple were introduced to the Internet and its uses at an awareness session in the village hall recently.
This initiative, under the auspices of Herefordshire Council’s ‘Get Online week’ saw ten residents introduced to the wonders of the Internet, some of whom hadn’t even used a computer previously.
The Hereford Council (HC) online team supplied, for free, all of the laptops and an excellent tutor who was able to dispel the apprehension felt by many of the students.
This training was only possible thanks to the installation of superfast broadband into the village hall, a project that has taken the Parish Council 18 months to achieve, funded through a HC Community Technology Grant and now delivering free wi-fi access throughout the building.
