A group of local people have joined together with Herefordshire Housing to explore the possibility of a county-first community led development. They are setting up a co-housing project adjacent to the existing estate on Tump Lane in Much Birch. A consultation event on Tuesday evening (January 15th) attracted a lot of interest with nearly 100 people turning up to discuss the proposals.

This will be a co-housing development for people of all ages and all walks of life to come together for mutual support and to utilise shared resources. It is envisaged that the project will deliver a mix of house types for rent and sale, comprising approximately 20 homes and a common house to accommodate regular shared meals, meetings, social events, guest rooms, laundry facilities and work space. It will offer a safe environment for children to play in and facilitate the cultivation of a community garden to grow vegetables and plant fruit trees.
