Members of Ross-on-Wye Lions Club were delighted at how successful their annual Bonfire and Fireworks Display on November 4th was. They said they are very grateful to all those who supported the event.

The weather was kind and the 25 minutes of fireworks made for a fantastic show of light and sound. There were hundreds of members of the local community present as well as visitors – one couple all the way from Australia were staying in Ross for the weekend. The community spirit was tangible, from the consideration of those who handed in lost property (including two phones), to the happy, smiling faces of those who left and said how much they had enjoyed the evening.

The Lions are particularly grateful to all those who volunteered their time and efforts to make the event enjoyable and particularly the owners and management of The Chase Hotel who have allowed the use of their grounds over many years. As the Lions have been told that this has to be their last time at The Chase they hope to find a local venue for next year so that they can continue to organise this Ross tradition.
