Dear Editor
I can recall the St Mary’s Garden Village development being discussed with Ross Rural Parish Council many years ago, the original site design had the new access island nearer to the existing access island. If the original proposal had not been amended the majority of the present disruption would not occur.
As the amended design changes where allowed to take place, the obvious solution to the traffic congestion that is already being experienced, is by having the bulk of the work undertaken at night, the day time problems would then be removed.
The recent A49 resurfacing fiasco provided the obvious pragmatic solution to the hazardous traffic and access problem that was taking place. The change to the working hours agreed in relation to the A49 activity, removed the majority of the traffic congestion and facilitated effective access to facilities and property.
So, lets learn from our resent direct experience and have the work on the A40 undertaken at night, problem solved.
