Representatives of local and national organisations and charities were invited to a presentation evening at the Alma Inn, Linton, near Ross-on-Wye, on Tuesday, October 15th.

The popular Linton Summer Sessions, hosted by Gemma and Dan Evans of the award winning CAMRA pub “The Alma Inn”, is in its ninth year. The mini-festival, which is held annually at the end of the summer, is a family-friendly event, combining excellent music from local bands with great ales and ciders. This year, the weather co-operated and everyone was treated to a full programme of music organised by Mike Bertenshaw, while children enjoyed bouncy castles, face painting, and an ice cream van.

Gemma Evans presented cheques to charities and organisations from monies raised by the event. Recipients were the Village of Linton Trust, Gorsley Goffs School PTFA, Macmillan Cancer Support, Ross First Responders, Cystic Fibrosis and Linton Village Hall.

The evening was rounded off with entertainment from local band, The Other Crowd.

Each year, the Linton Summer Sessions helps to raise money for charity, while bringing together and promoting the community.See this week’s paper for more stories like this, available in shops and as a Digital Edition now.
