Some amazing achievements in the London Marathon were made by local people, and those involved with local businesses, on Sunday, April 26th.

The Ross Gazette's sports person of the year, Kris Saunders-Stowe completed the marathon in a regular wheelchair, rather than a specialised sport one. Kris is a disability exercise and fitness instructor for Wheely Good Fitness, which provides unique and modern fitness classes to wheelchair users and the disabled community.

Another outstanding local marathon performance in Sunday's marathon were the seven runners from PGL Travel, who raised over £12,000 for the NSPCC.

PGL, which is based in Penyard Lane, Ross-on-Wye, has a long standing partnership with the NSPCC and the money was raised through sponsorship, raffles, lunches and auctions. The money will support the work the NSPCC does in helping to protect vulnerable young people.
