Local dancer Teagan Melville, from Hereford, has been selected to join the cast of Gangsta Granny on stage at The Courtyard this May.

Teagan was selected by Birmingham Stage Company after submitting an audition video in response to an open call, to play a small but important part in the hit show based on David Walliams’ best-selling children’s book.

Teagan’s talent for dance was born at a young age. Since then, she has extended her experiences to Elmhurst Associates in Birmingham and The Royal Ballet Senior Associates in Covent Garden. With offers from an array of schools including Bird College and Laine Theatre Arts, Teagan eventually aspires for a leading role in the West End.

This isn’t Teagan’s first performance at The Courtyard as she has previously been part of the Junior Chorus in the annual Pantomime and a member of The Courtyard Youth Theatre.

David Durant, Associate Director at The Courtyard praises Teagan’s talent: “I used to teach Teagan when she was part of Youth Theatre and she was an exceptional performer. We’re really happy for her and can’t wait to see her on The Courtyard stage again.”

Gangsta Granny will be in The Courtyard’s Main House from Tuesday 8th – Saturday 12th May. To book tickets, or for more information contact the Box Office on 01432 340555 or visit www.courtyard.org.uk
