Business in the county has a new champion, local entrepreneur, and chairman of Walford Parish Council, Frank Myers MBE. He has been appointed as the new chairman of the Herefordshire Business Board, the organisation tasked with giving the local business community a voice and driving the strategy to promote business growth and attract investment into the local economy.
A passionate advocate for the interests of the county, Councillor Myers is committed to raising the profile and influence of the Board to ensure effective partnerships are forged between the public and private sector.
He will also have a seat at the Marches Local Enterprise Partnership, the body set up to create jobs and regenerate the economic vitality of the area. The successors of the old Regional Development Agencies, the new LEPs are a major source of finance and investment. Ensuring Herefordshire gets its fair share of investment and plays a significant role in shaping the strategy for the region, is key to the role.
An engineer by profession, he founded Myers Road Safety Limited and continues to take his inventions in the road safety field to world markets.
