Honor Letts from How Caple, is among the 26 finalists from across the country competing for a Cranmer award.
The pupils are competing in the Cranmer Awards scheme which has taken place annually since 1989 and this year has attracted a record number of entries. Nearly £900 in prize money is on offer to youngsters who memorise and recite extracts from the Book of Common Prayer created by Thomas Cranmer, Archbishop of Canterbury during the Reformation.
The scheme is run by the Prayer Book Society which encourages rediscovery and use of The Book of Common Prayer which is at the heart of the Church of England’s worship.
The Cranmer Finals 2017 will be held on February 25th at the Old Palace, Worcester.
