Two young girls from Ross are among The Forest of Dean Gymnastics Club's group of 13 of its most talented gymnasts to train at the internationally renowned Nadia Comaneci Gymnastic Club in Romania for six days at Easter.

Sophie Akers aged 8 is a pupil at Walford Primary School and Kayleigh Sosna (age 11) attends the John Kyrle High School.

The 13 gymnasts, aged 8 - 13, are all members of the Gloucestershire County Gymnastic Squad. They will be accompanied by their coach, Romanian ex-international gymnast, Alina Stoea, and the Club's Director of Coaching, Lynn Hammersley. During their visit the girls will receive expert gymnastic tuition and will train for approximately six hours a day.

The Forest of Dean Gymnastics Club trains over 400 local children each week and offers gymnastics classes for children from 12 months old through to British National Championship level. The Club, which operates from a purpose built Gymnastics and Fitness Centre at Five Acres, was founded in 1976 by Lynn Hammersley, and is run as a charity and non-profit making limited company.

The Club, which has recently been included in the London 2012 Training Camp Guide for countries considering a training venue for the 2012 Olympics, is now anxious to secure sponsorship from local companies to support this trip. Any sponsorship your Company can provide, no matter how small, would be greatly appreciated. For instance, sponsorship for T-Shirts, Sports Bags and Tracksuits would be welcomed. A small logo recognising the Sponsor's contribution can be included and who knows, with your support, one of these talented and dedicated young gymnasts may one day represent Great Britain at an Olympic Games.
