SafeLane staff around the world, including some from the Ross-on-Wye based company, took part in running half marathons on Sunday, September 29th to raise £10,000 for victims of landmines and explosive accidents.
SafeLane’s CEO Adam Ainsworth is a resident of the Forest of Dean. He instigated what has now been dubbed the SafeLane Global Gallop.
In solidarity with their CEO, staff on international projects offered to join him and run half marathons on the same day.
From Somalia to Darfur, and from the Falkland Islands to the Forest of Dean, over 100 SafeLane runners took part. Their commitment has seen the fundraising target already exceeded - it currently stands at over £13,000.
The funds raised will be used in countries such as Yemen and Afghanistan, to supply medical equipment to those affected by explosive accidents and to fund mine risk education programmes.See the full story in this week’s edition of the Ross Gazette, or subscribe to our online edition here
