ONE local businesswoman watched the X Factor with special interest on Sunday evening. Competitor, Chloe-Jasmine, was wearing one of Jacq Brill's couture necklaces as she sang her way through to the televised shows in front of judge Cheryl Cole. However, speaking from her Ross-based studio on Friday morning, Jacq was remaining tight-lipped when asked if she knew about Chloe's progress in the competition (she got through!).
Jacq is delighted at the international exposure the show has given to her unique pieces of jewellery and delighted for Chloe, with whom she has worked on several couture fashion shoots in the past. "She's a lovely girl and I am really pleased for her," said Jacq. "She's worn one of my pieces at each of her auditions and now wears one for luck. She's a lovely, down-to-earth girl and really hardworking."
Jacq's pieces, all of which are bespoke one-offs, are all crafted and hand beaded by her and are increasingly popular with designers and magazine spreads, including British Mode, the UK's number one fashion and bridal publication covering couture, menswear, celebrity, beauty, luxe travel, haute cuisine. "My pieces seem especially appealing to designers, who love the fact that they are all one offs."In recent months Jacq's jewellery has appeared in several bridal photographic magazine spreads, a Game of Thrones wedding and soon, the Liverpool Urban Catwalk show.
In preparation for her appearance at judge Cheryl's house in Nice, Chloe-Jasmine visited Jacq in Ross to discuss her outfit and which necklace she should wear. While here, they walked up to the Prospect. "She loved it here in Ross," said Jacq."
The statement necklace Chloe-Jasmine eventually chose for her audition was the gold one she can be seen wearing in the photo. Don't be too surprised if you see Cheryl wearing some of Jacq's earrings soon either. Chloe gave her some as a present. Meanwhile you can see some of Jacq's work on Facebook at Beloved Vintage Bridal by Jacq Brill.
