Ross-on-Wye has a proud tradition of welcoming royal guests, although until the Queen’s first visit on April 24, 1957, Ross had not had an official visit from a reigning monarch for 1,000 years.

She visited Ross again in 2003 when Headteacher, Nigel Griffiths, welcomed Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth to John Kyrle High School and Sixth Form Centre on Friday, July 11th.

However, other members of the Royal family have also visited the town. These include, the Duke of Kent, Princess Anne and the Countess of Wessex.
