Lora Garrod completed the Dublin marathon in a time of 4 hours 1 minute and 44 seconds, she was running to raise money for St Mary's Church at Foy.

Lora said she enjoyed the first 23 miles, and crossing the finish line, but the last 3.2 miles were hard. She said: "I am now prepared to argue with whoever mentioned the course being flat, as there are without doubt some nasty hills in Dublin, and yes, after 18 miles, speed bumps do begin to fall into this category.

"I have kept my side of the bargain. and have the blisters, achy muscles, swollen knee and a medal to prove it. It is an experience I definitely would like to repeat in the future."
