The CIC which runs Ross Sports Centre has just received notification that they have been awarded £9,800 to replace the kitchen at the Centre.
Paul Flitney said that currently the majority of their revenue is from using the kitchen but it is a domestic one which has become outdated.
He said that the grant will help to provide a replacement which will be compliant with regulations and help to increase their revenue.
The Sports Centre has seen an increase in use including the VW Dub Festival in the summer, and the Country and Western Festival bringing significant visitor numbers to the town. Private bookings and a well-established comedy night also runs every quarter
The main use is still by the football and cricket clubs but additional reveune means that the clubs pay less rent ensuring that they are sustainable and don’t have significant overheads.
