The planning committee at Ross Town Council will have discussed the proposal for a new Tesco supermarket in Ross at their meeting on Tusesday, September 3rd.
As consultants to the planning comittee at Herefordshire Council they can only report their opinions to the County Council. They have no power regarding the decision and they can only pass on planning considerations. The Town Council will not be discussing the matter at full Council as it is a planning issue.
There have been many letters and emails written to the Town Council, both in favour and against the application but only those which are planning considerations can be taken into account by the Town Council.
There have also been many letters written to the Ross Gazette, see page 10, asking the Town Council and the Association of Ross Traders to take a lead over the issue.
Members of the public can still comment on the planning application before it is discussed by Herefordshire Council Planning Committee. This consultation period is open until September 19th.
