A MAN charged with attempted murder appeared before Hereford Magistrates on Saturday morning (February 3rd).
Jason Hughes, 34, of Quarry Close, Ross was remanded in custody to appear at Worcester Crown Court at a date to be set.
Police were called to a property regarding, what they believed to be, a domestic incident at Quarry Close just before 8am on Friday morning (February 3rd) following a call from the West Midlands Ambulance Service.
When officers arrived, they found a woman with serious head injuries and arrested a man at the scene.
On Friday morning Detective Chief Inspector Martyn Barnes said: "This is a major investigation and the scene has been cordoned off while officers continue their enquiries.
"The woman has significant injuries, however they are not believed to be life threatening and she is currently undergoing treatment at Hereford County Hospital.
Inspector Gebbie contacted the Ross Gazette on Friday to reassure residents that there was no need for alarm.
Many neighbours contacted the Ross Gazette to say that they had heard nothing and knew nothing about the incident until it appeared on the Gazette's website and facebook pages.
