Ross Tennis Centre staged the annual Paul Hulett Memorial Trophy for players under 16 on Sunday.
Ten local boys competed, the boys were put into two groups and the first round was played in a round robin format. There were some extremely close and competitive matches. The winners and runners up progressed to the semi finals where they played one short set, the first to six games.
Marcus Barnard, last years champion, played Sion Davies and was in dominant form and won the set 6 - 1. The second semi was a much closer encounter, with Craig Stephens facing the intimidating Gabriel Warwick. This match went to a deciding game with the score locked at 5 - 5. Gabriel had the advantage of serving and went 30 love up, but Craig showed true determination and came back to take the game and match 6 - 5.
