A television crew from BBC Breakfast television were in Ross on Thursday to film at Made in Ross. Presenter Nick Higham had visited one of the makers who is one of the management committee at Made in Ross, Eleanor Kercher. She was filmed in her workshop, then more shots were filmed in the Market House, where up to 15 artists and makers display and sell their creations.

The crew were filming as part of a piece about Hereford’s bid to become a City of Culture. The bid, which is being co-ordinated by the Courtyard and Herefordshire Council, is seeking to involved the whole of the county as Herefordshire is a small city and county but it has a rich cultural life.

Artists, such as those based at Made in Ross, will be included in the bid to demonstrate the variety of how the arts benefit the community.

Mr Higham told the Gazette that he thought having a county-wide aspect to the appeal would make the bid ’different’ to the others.
