ANOTHER masked man has been captured on film behaving suspiciously on a town driveway in the early hours of the morning.

The incident in the Three Crosses area of Ross-on-Wye happened around 4.30am on Friday, January 7, and reportedly followed other incidents involving cars.

Similar reports before Christmas were also made of hooded or masked figures captured on CCTV apparently trying car doors in the town.

Jack Lilwall of Ross-on-Wye shared a video from his home doorbell camera of Friday morning’s incident.

He said: "Someone going around Three Crosses trying car door handles. Confronted and he ran off.

"Got his face on dashcam, will download and pass it on. Lock your cars."

He said the man had his "head down and (a) black face mask on".

Replies to his post, which included the footage, revealed other incidents that night in the new St Mary’s Garden Village estate.

A woman posted: "He got into my sister’s car at 3.10am this morning at St Mary’s."

A man responded: "That must have been right next to our house as I have him on CCTV at 3.09am. Police have this footage already."

Another woman added: "He’s been around St Mary’s village last night. A few of my neighbours have him on camera."

And one poster said: "He was also doing it on Nursery Road last night. My sister got CCTV footage of it just after midnight."

Another poster revealed: "Someone was in the back garden next door to me over (the) Xmas period with a torch, 11.30 at night.

"My neighbour went to the kitchen and saw a torch shining out the back."

And a man said: "My wife’s car was broken into on Springfield road a few weeks ago. Tried to use cards at the Spur petrol station."

One woman added that her sister’s car had been broken into, while another car owner revealed that she had forgotten to lock her vehicle "and he was in it at 3.50am" stealing money.

In November, a couple posted footage of two masked men trying a locked gate at their Ashfield Crescent home in Ross around 3am.

The same night, two children’s bikes were stolen from a shed around the corner.

Two weeks later, a photo of a hooded man shining a torch through car windows was shared with townspeople after at least four incidents of thefts from cars and suspicious behaviour that week.

The passenger window of a silver Skoda parked in Red Meadow car park, Ross-on-Wye, was smashed overnight and £25 in coins stolen, while a red Audi A4 driver’s window was smashed on the driveway in Mount Pleasant and two pairs of designer sunglasses stolen.

The next night, the passenger window of a blue Ford Fiesta parked in Kings Acre lower car park was broken and a wallet and air pods taken.
