Leominster was privileged to host Armed Forces Day this year on Saturday, June 30th and the Mayor of Ross-on-Wye hopes that Ross will be awarded this honour next year.

Events included a Royal British Legion parade, military stands and stalls, guided trails, cadet displays and much more.

The new Mayor of Ross, Cllr Harry Bramer and his Consort, Ms Marie Ward, attended. Cllr Bramer, told the Ross Gazette: “The day was the culmination of the celebrations of the Armed Forces Flag raising which took place on Monday and this year was hosted by Leominster. I hope that it will be awarded to Ross-on-Wye next year as there was a great interest.”

Armed Forces Day aims to raise public awareness of the contribution made to our country by those who serve and have served in Her Majesty’s Armed Forces, and give everyone an opportunity to show their support for the men and women who make up the Armed Forces community.
