The Mayor of Ross-on-Wye, Cllr Harry Bramer, and his consort Marie Ward, attended the West Mercia Police annual awards ceremony on Thursday, September 13th, which took place at Hereford Town Hall.
Commendations were made to over 20 officers for acts of bravery, dedication and skills above and beyond the call of duty.
These ranged from serious crime detection, through tragic road traffic accidents to assistance at the scene of potential suicides.
Sgt Whitchurch, PC Rudgard, PC Townsend and PC Beswick were commended for recognising the significant harm caused by the illegal production of cannabis in a residential area and identifying the associated exploitation of a vulnerable person.
Cllr Bramer told the Ross Gazette:?“It is refreshing to note that Herefordshire remains a low crime county and the dedication of officers like these seek to keep it a safe place to live, work and visit.”See this week’s paper for more stories like this, available in shops and as a Digital Edition now.
