Midlands Air Ambulance Charity, which has a shop in Gloucester Road, Ross-on-Wye, has been recognised as an Outstanding Workplace for the third time by leading management consultancy People Insight.

The accolade follows an impressive 93% employee engagement score in the charity’s latest staff survey, underlining the strong sense of purpose and teamwork that drives its lifesaving work across the Midlands.

The organisation previously received the award in 2022 and 2024, placing it among the top charities in the country for staff satisfaction and engagement. The recognition celebrates workplaces where teams feel motivated, connected and inspired by a shared mission.

Chief executive Hanna Sebright said: “We are thrilled to be recognised once again as an Outstanding Workplace. This award is a testament to the passion and dedication of our team, and to the culture we’ve built together, one that puts people and purpose at the heart of everything we do.”

Staff across the charity praised the positive culture and pride that comes from their work, describing it as “one big happy family” where “everyone is driven to achieve the best for patients.” Others said they valued working for an organisation that “cares about patients and employees alike” and felt rewarded knowing that “every mission helps to save a life.”

Midlands Air Ambulance Charity operates three helicopters and a fleet of critical care cars, responding to around 4,300 missions every year. The service covers six counties including Gloucestershire and Herefordshire, providing rapid pre-hospital emergency care entirely funded by public donations.

The charity’s new airbase and headquarters in Shropshire, near the borders of Staffordshire and the West Midlands, will further strengthen its operations. The site includes new facilities for medical staff training and development and will help future-proof the service as demand continues to rise across the region.
