Early Vision, a small company, created by Sue Marshall the Head of Oak House Nursery School in Brampton Abbotts and now headed by her son, Oliver, has received a National Award from Nursery World for the best Educational Resources to support Creative Development in Early Years.
Their little 'video visits' to real life locations, filmed around Ross, enable teachers to 'bring the real world into the classroom'. The videos, which show children what adults do in the course of their work, are being used in thousands of nurseries and schools in the UK and in fifteen countries abroad including South Korea, Australia, Brazil and the UAE.
Early Vision was praised for their innovative resource which, the judges, said "provide young children with a wonderful insight into the world of work enabling to role-play different occupations with knowledge and understanding".
Sue said that she was delighted with the award which provided recognition for the value and importance of the concept of their resources.
News of further success reached the company last week when they heard they had been shortlisted for a BETT Award (British Education, Training and Technology) in the Early Years Solutions Category alongside the major players in the industry including BBC Education, Oxford University Press, Cambridge Hitatchi and Espresso.
Oliver, the Marketing Director, said:?"We are delighted to receive such a fantastic endorsement for our resources. BETT is seen as the world leading International Educational ICT Show so we are keeping our fingers crossed for January!"
