The Orchard Trust, a charity based in Lydbrook, was thrilled to receive a cheque for £12,000 from the Morrisons Ross-on-Wye team on Tuesday, February 21st.
The Orchard Trust supports the involvement, independence and development of people with learning disabilities, and the charity was recently awarded funding from the Morrisons Foundation.
Caroline Jones, grant co-ordinator for the Orchard Trust, told the Gazette that the £12,000 was almost the exact amount that was needed to build an outdoor classroom at the charity’s base in Stowfield, Lower Lydbrook.
Their service users will be able to make good use of the outdoor classroom, as will those with dementia, when The Orchard Trust begins their dementia walks when the weather gets a little nicer.
