Residents of Lea held an emergency meeting with Jesse Norman MP last week after torrential rain led to flooding in the village and a temporary closure of the A40.

Last Thursday, working alongside ward Councillors and the Environment Agency, Jesse met with residents who have been affected by flood waters since New Year's Day.

At the meeting the immediate steps required to clear foul water from the area, as well as medium term measures to improve drainage, and longer term plans were discussed.

Later in the day, responding rapidly to Jesse Norman's urgent request, a tanker cleared 14,000 gallons of foul water. Full report in this week's paper.
