The Ross-on-Wye NCT Branch is very excited to announce the launch of a brand new walking group ‘Ross Strollers’. This is a friendly, family walking group meeting every other Monday at 10.30am for mums, dads, carers, expectant parents, babies and toddlers.
The buggy route is suitable for prams and slings, but those who are interested in going are reminded to wear sensible footwear.
The walks are led by Ross-on-Wye NCT volunteers on different routes in and around Ross. The group welcomes both local mums and dads, as well as families visiting on holiday, and you don’t need to be an NCT member to join in.
Laura Smith, Ross Strollers Co-ordinator at Ross-on-Wye NCT, said: “We’re so pleased to be able to help mums, dads and their babies enjoy a breath of fresh air, exercise and make new friendships, all in our beautiful town. There will even be an opportunity to stop at a local café, Hope Treasures, for refreshments and a natter. All parents of babies and bumps are welcome. There is no charge to join the walk, although we welcome any donations towards your local NCT Branch.”
The first Ross Strollers’ walk took place on Monday, April 3rd at 10.30am from the Ryefield Children’s Centre in Ross-on-Wye, and the next one will take place on April 17th.
Talking about the revival of the NCT Branch in Ross-on-Wye, Laura said: “We have been thrilled with the success of NCT in our area so far; with loads of support from local mums and dads who are enjoying our new groups. Our first Sling Library took place during our Bumps and Babies group on March 28th, and we welcomed lots of new mums and dads, and lots of babies – some as young as three weeks old!
“If you are a new or expectant parent, we would love to see you at our walk and other groups soon.”
