A LOCAL inn has been named as one of The Good Food Guide’s Top 100 pubs in the UK for 2026.
The New Inn at St Owen’s Cross has been included in this year’s edition of the Good Food Guide’s Top 100 Best Pubs in the UK.
The list champions the pubs and people doing more for their communities, serving honest, top-quality cooking in a warm and welcoming setting.
Being featured in the list again adds another prestigious accolade to the Herefordshire pub’s growing collection of awards and recognition.
Over the past few years, the New Inn has built a reputation for championing the best of Herefordshire’s food and drink. It combines a warm country pub welcome with a seasonal menu celebrating the exceptional produce available in this and neighbouring counties.
Proud of its Herefordshire roots, the pub works with local suppliers wherever possible, offering a menu that brings together much-loved pub classics and regularly changing specials inspired by the seasons. Its drinks offering follows the same local-first philosophy, with a wide selection of regional beers, ciders, spirits and wines alongside other carefully chosen options.
The Good Food Guide recognition, in partnership with Timothy Taylor’s Landlord beer, marks another significant milestone for the team, following previous accolades including Midlands Gastro Pub of the Year, Herefordshire Pub of the Year and a place in the Good Food Guide’s Top 50 Best Sunday Roasts.
Mark Green, Co-owner of The New Inn, said, “We’re incredibly proud of our Herefordshire roots and the wonderful food and drink producers we have on our doorstep, so it means a great deal to have what we do recognised on the national stage.
“We want The New Inn to be somewhere people come not just for a great meal, but for the whole experience.”
