On a very wet day Goodrich Goldcrest Nursery was officially opened. Despite November 14th being extremely wet, staff and pupils at Goodrich C of E Primary School were very proud to welcome guests to see the new nursery.
They are delighted that this much longed for project has finally reached fruition. They celebrated by inviting guests from the first Goldcrest families, the diocese, local authority, other schools and members of the local community, including retired governors and staff to share the celebration.
Children from across the school performed a rendition of “We’re Going on a Goldcrest Hunt’ which everyone enjoyed. Then Headteacher, Karen Miles, and Chair of Governors, Neil Crofts, were pleased to pass the scissors over to governor, Richard Mutlow, to officially open the nursery building.
The nursery is for children aged between two and four years old and the school looks forward to getting to know children and families much sooner and allowing smooth transition into the school.
The Headteacher expressed grateful thanks to everyone that has contributed to this project .
Mrs Miles told the Ross Gazette: “It was not a ‘beautiful day’ but it has been a brilliant one for our school”Digital Edition now.
