The newly elected Ross-on-Wye Town Councillors will be meeting officially for the first time at the Corn Exchange on Monday, May 13th for the Annual Meeting of the Full Council. The meeting will begin at 7.00pm.
Residents are welcome to attend, and will have an opportunity to raise concerns, make suggestions, or ask questions, if they have notified the Clerk in advance.
The Mayor of Ross-on-Wye will be elected on the evening and nominations will be considered for the Town Council’s eight committees, including the Amenities Committee, the Finance and Personal Committee, the Policy and Management Committee, and the Neighbourhood Planning Sub Committee.
The Town Councillors will also consider a motion put forward on April 4th by former Ross-on-Wye Mayor and Councillor, Harry Bramer, regarding The Chase Hotel.
The motion reads ’that this Town Council notes that the land at The Chase Hotel was not considered for designation as a Local Green Space during the preparation of the Neighbourhood Development Plan and supports the immediate consideration of the grounds below the car park down to Waterside as a designated site.’
Harry hopes that an application will be made to register The Chase Hotel, its entrance drive, car park, and gardens as an Asset of Community Value.
A report from the Town Council meeting will be in this week’s Ross Gazette.See this week’s paper for more stories like this, available in shops and as a Digital Edition now.
