Work is currently will begin work next week to install the ducts required for a new pedestrian crossing on Edgar Street, Hereford.

Alun Griffiths (Contractors) Ltd and Western Power Distribution will begin the work on Monday, March 27th.

The work will require the use of two-way traffic lights from the junction of Penhaligon Way to the Junction of Prior Street for four nights. The work is due to be completed on Friday, March 31st. Traffic lights will be in place from 8pm until 6am.

Andrew Davies, project manager, Alun Griffiths (Contractors) Ltd said: “This necessary work to install the ducts for the new crossing will be performed at night to minimise disruption to road users. WPD is also taking the opportunity to ensure all their planned works in the area are completed at the same time, which will help prevent future disruption to residents and businesses.

“We don’t expect significant delay but if you’re travelling during these evening you may wish to use alternative routes.

“We once again thank the public for their patience while we continue with the City Link Road’s construction.”
