I am writing on behalf of the men, women, and children who came out early to welcome the torch to Ross and stood for over an hour at the roundabout at the end of Cantilupe Road. All the police motorcycles, cars and buses, travelling in convoy, drove all around the roundabout waving to the crowds. The torch bearer, however, did not! He just cut the corner and ran up Cantilupe Road ignoring the hundreds of Ross people who were cheering, waving flags and home made torches. Surely, the organisers and the many stewards and policemen, could have guided him around so that everyone got a good view of this once in a lifetime event.

Apart from that it was a glorious occasion enjoyed by probably the entire population of Ross including the local schools. It was wonderful to see so many people supporting this Olympic event. We should all be proud that Ross people showed such magnificent support.
