A local Rector will be singing ’The Girl from Ipanema’ and assorted classics, old and new, at a concert in How Caple on Saturday, March 10th to raise funds for the village’s medieval church.

The Rev Crispin Pemberton will be performing with Octavo, a highly-regarded choir from Herefordshire. Its eight members include not only Mr Pemberton, who sings baritone, but also his headhunter wife Suzannah, a soprano who formerly sang with the Monteverdi Choir and co-founded a female close-harmony group called Mother’s Ruin. Octavo will be performing an a capella programme which will include Palestrina, Ravel, folk songs, and modern showstoppers.

A member of the How Caple congregation said: “Crispin has a wonderful voice. We are looking forward to a musical treat - an entertaining evening with something for everyone.”

Tickets for the ‘Chalk and Cheese’ concert at How Caple Court, priced at £10 (including a glass of wine and light refreshments), can be ordered from Verity Look on 07816 478213 or Lois Letts on 01989 740688.
