Oscar Saxelby-Lee, the five-year-old boy with leukaemia, who many local people have supported by having tests to see if they are a bone marrow match or raising funds for the family, is now in Singapore.

Oscar has already undergone a bone marrow aspiration under sedation in the hospital in Singapore. As we went to press Oscar was a little nervous about his next treatment, since he has to have a line inserted into his leg. This is to help the blood flow around the machine that will begin at his central line and feed around his body to extract the T cells.

His parents reported on their Facebook page that they managed a little outing today to the Botanic Gardens which was absolutely stunning but very very humid and Oscar is now resting.

Jen Kelly, founder of the Grace Kelly Childhood Cancer Trust, which backed Oscar’s campaign, said: “We are proud to have been able to help support Oscar Saxelby-Lee and his parents, Olivia and Jamie, through the most incredible fundraising campaign. We would like to wish them the very best of luck on this next step of their journey and we are rooting for them all the way.”

The family arranged to make the trip to Singapore, saying: “Oscar was given this chance, and we must go for it before it’s too late.”
