Two men were arrested in Ross on Christmas Eve on suspicion of assault following an attack on a man in his 20s. The victim received facial injuries but did not require medical treatment.

Police were called to a report of a disorder in the beer garden outside the Mail Rooms pub in Gloucester Road, Ross-on-Wye just after 10pm on Christmas Eve.

A 24-year-old man and a 16-year-old youth were arrested and the younger man was also arrested on suspicion of damaging a car. They were both later released on police bail until February 2nd, 2014 pending further inquiries.

A 23-year-old man was also arrested during the incident for resisting/obstructing a police officer for which he received a caution. Witnesses, or anyone with information should call the non-emergency number 101, quoting incident reference 687-S-241213, or telephone Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
