The busy A40 can also be seen just inches away from where Matt plays.
Eight year old Matt Mcleod was distraught the week before Christmas when his beloved quad bike was destroyed by a car which left the dual carriageway at Pencraig.
A Renault Clio driven by a young man clipped the kerb and turned over late on Friday, December 19th. It hit four concrete fence panels and a concrete fence post. The driver was shaken but unhurt and a breath test was negative so the police are not taking any action.
However this is not the first time vehicles have had accidents at this spot. Darren, Naomi and Matt Mcleod have been asking for a crash barrier to be errected for many years now.
Their property borders the busy A40 and, although the 50mph speed limit has improved the situation, they are still worried that one day a more tragic incident will occur.
Darren has lived in the village for many years and has pictures of a serious accident which involved this property back in 1991.
Darren said:?"My eight year old son often plays in the area that now looks like a bomb hit it. I also have to tell him that his quad bike is not going to be replaced because as it is classed as a petrol vehicle, it is not covered on our house insurance."
Naomi added that she is very upset not just about the accident but the unsympathetic way her insurance company has dealt with the incident.
However a police spokesman suggested that the family should claim from the car driver's insurance.
