PETERCHURCH Primary School pupils have started the new academic year in a brand-new £10 million school building.

The new building provides a modern learning environment for children in the Golden Valley and increases the school’s capacity from 105 to 140 pupils.

The new school building was handed over to Herefordshire Council and the school on Friday, September 4, ahead of pupils arriving for the start of the new school year.

Work will now move into its second phase, including the demolition of the existing school building and the completion of the remaining external works. This phase is expected to be completed by the end of January 2027.

The £10 million investment forms part of Herefordshire Council’s commitment to providing high-quality school facilities for children across the county.
