Dear Editor,

It’s a bitter irony for those campaigning to keep the community arts collective – Made In Ross, at The Market House for the foreseeable future that, with almost 500 signatures collected, that is more than many of the councillors polled during the last local election. The contract with The Courtyard can easily be sorted out. Made In Ross, already showing real signs of success, should be a major attraction for visitors and locals alike bringing them into the town centre.

Let’s hope political points scoring doesn’t get in the way of common sense when they deliberate on this issue. Work is also going on in the background to address the issue of a dedicated tourist centre for the town – there are empty premises that would be ideal.

David Callinan,

Ross
