The Phoenix Theatre Singers have just completed their 11th annual summer concert to rapturous applause. On their penultimate night they had a visit from the National Operatic and Dramatic Association (NODA) of which The Phoenix Theatre have been members for the past four years.
Since 2016 The Phoenix Theatre has received seven award nominations for plays and the team have won Best Play for three consecutive years. This year, NODA have introduced a new award category for concerts and review shows and The Phoenix Theatre were keen to see what NODA would make of this year’s concert entitled With a Song in My Heart. Here’s what NODA representative Louise Hickey had to say.
“From the moment the Singers took to the stage it was evident that we were in for an excellent evening’s entertainment. Before I talk about the programme, which was delightful, I want to say how immaculately stylish the singers looked throughout the concert. It really was tastefully done and added even more polish to an extremely polished performance."
The Singers will regroup on Thursday, September 5th at 7.30pm, where they will be holding an open evening for anyone who is interested in joining the group for future concerts. If you think you might be interested then please do pop along to the open evening, which will be held at The Phoenix Theatre, next to The Royal Hotel.See the full review in this week’s edition of the Ross Gazette, or subscribe to our online edition here
