Children at St Mary’s C of E Primary School, Fownhope, raised money for Red Nose Day by wearing red, entering a crazy hair competition and having their pictures taken in the photo booth run by the Disciples Club, who are passionate about making the world a better place by supporting different charities and leading fundraising in school.

The day culminated in a special Red Nose Day assembly, to which parents were invited. Prefects and the Disciples led the assembly, which told the history of Comic Relief and gave examples of how the money is used, as well as telling cheesy jokes and presenting a ‘best crazy hair trophy’ for each key stage.

A grand total of £280 was raised for Comic Relief. Mr Milne, headteacher, said, “We were delighted to raise this amount for Comic Relief by having fun, as well as teaching children about those people who are less fortunate than ourselves, both at home and abroad.”
