Dear Editor,
I would like to inform the residents in or around Greytree Lodge on Renembrance Sunday, November 11th 2018, that Irene and I will be in Ross to place a Wreath on the Memorial outside the Lodge.
We’d be happy if anyone would like to join us in what will be a very brief ceremony.
The memorial was commissioned soon after the First World War by the original owners of the Lodge, the Evans Family, from whom we bought it in 1981. The Rev Evans was Rector of Brampton Abbotts and his son is named on the Memorial, alongside a number of other local men some of whom perished in the conflict. They are identified by red crosses by their name.
Greytree Lodge still holds very special memories for our family and the Memorial will always remain an integral and important part of its heritage.
