Work on the Ross-on-Wye Neighbourhood Plan is reaching a key stage. One thing the Plan can include is small areas of land (even private land) that might qualify as ‘Local Green Spaces’. Very importantly, if they qualify they can be protected from all future development.
Local people have already suggested six possible areas but the steering group is hoping that they will receive more suggestions over the next few weeks.
Any suggestions need to be for small areas important to a local community and that are special or distinctive in terms of, any or all of the following; beauty, wildlife, history, recreation or tranquillity.
It is a tough task to get them through a demanding planning process, so they will eventually need more than just a list, but that can be dealt with later.
If anybody wishes to suggest a possible Local Green Space please email details to Melvin Reynolds [email protected] or c/o Ross Town Council, Corn Exchange, 7 High Street, Ross-on-Wye, HR9 5HL.
You can also go online to visit the Neighbourhood Plan website www.rossneighbourhoodplan.org.uk and either suggest a new site or comment on those already suggested.
Find out about planning applications that affect you by visiting the Public Notice Portal.
For new suggestions the steering group needs to know exactly where the suggested area is and why you think it might be special or distinctive. And you need to leave your name and contact details please.
