PLANS to replace an existing school cloakroom with a smaller single-storey building and canopied area have been submitted to Herefordshire planners.

The proposed plans for Weston Under Penyard Church Of England Primary School will provide an independent entrance and fire exit to the playground for pupils using the adjoining classroom as well as giving natural light to the classroom.

Currently, the existing cloakroom is made from UPVC panels and a polycarbonate roof with poor insulation properties, making it unbearably hot in summer and extremely cold in winter.

The existing cloakroom is also built in front of windows and a fire exit from the classroom behind. This planning application effectively addresses these issues.

Comments on the application, number P261393/F, can be made via Herefordshire Council’s planning portal by Friday, July 3.
